Starting a New Account When You Already Have One
Updated
If you have worked on Dwelling Blocks before — with a previous company, or under an older account — and are now joining a new company or setting up your own, there are two things to do, in this order.
1. Make sure the old account is not active
An account that stays active keeps receiving offers and notifications, and lenders keep seeing it on their panels. Close it off first:
- Ask the previous administrator to remove you from their account. Only an administrator at that company can do it.
- If you still have access and there is no administrator to ask, sign in to the old account and switch Available for assignments off on your profile details page.
Both are explained in Deactivating or Removing an Account. Finish any open assignments there before you leave — pending payments are still paid through Stripe.
2. Sign up from your new invitation
Use the invitation your new company sent you, or request access if you are setting the company up yourself. Sign up as a new user rather than trying to reuse the old account — the old one belongs to the previous company.
If the invitation link has expired, you do not need a new one. See How To Set Your Password If Your Invite Link Expired.
Then finish setting up
Once you are in, work through the Getting Started Checklist — profile, license, insurance, coverage, and the bank account for payouts — so lenders can start sending you work. If anything from the old account seems to be getting in the way, contact support.
