Can't Log In or Reset Your Password
Updated
If you can't sign in even though you're sure your details are correct, the cause is usually one of a few common issues. Work through the steps below in order, since the first ones resolve most problems.
1. Check which email address you are using
Your account exists under the exact address your invitation was sent to, and a password only works against that address. If you have more than one — a personal address and a company one, say — try the others before assuming the password is wrong. A correct password typed against an address that has no account looks exactly like a wrong password.
Once you are in, you can move the account to whichever address you prefer from your Profile page. See Instructions for Changing Your Email Address.
2. If you never set a password, create one
An invitation creates your account, but it does not set a password. If you were invited and have never chosen one, there is no password to get right — you need to create one before you can sign in.
- Go to the Dwelling Blocks login page.
- Click Forgot Password?
- Enter the email address your invitation was sent to.
This is the same route to take if your invitation link has since expired — see How To Set Your Password If Your Invite Link Expired.
3. Check your inbox, then your spam folder
The reset email arrives within a few minutes. If it is not in your inbox, check spam or junk, and add dwellingblocks.com to your safe senders so the next one lands properly. Company mail systems often run filtering of their own, so an address that handles ordinary mail without trouble can still hold ours back.
4. Set the new password and sign in
Follow the link in the email, choose a new password, and sign in with your email address and that password. If you requested a reset more than once, use the newest email — an earlier link may no longer be valid.
If none of that works
If no address you try produces a reset email, the problem is delivery rather than login, and Troubleshooting Email and SMS Delivery covers it.
