Missing a File You Need From the Lender
Updated
Anything the lender shares for an assignment — a contract, a prior report, plans, or any other document you need to complete the report — appears in the Shared Files section of the assignment page. Dwelling Blocks cannot see a file that was never shared with the order, so if it is not in Shared Files, the lender has to add it.
This applies to assignments you have accepted. On an offer you have not yet accepted, there is nothing to request yet.
How to request a file
- Open the assignment and go to Notes.
- Add a note saying which file you need, and mark it Urgent.
Urgent notes go straight to the lender, and they assist promptly. Keep the request in the assignment's notes rather than emailing — it stays attached to the order, and everyone handling it sees it. See Notes: Messaging the Lender.
The lender says it was uploaded, but you see nothing
- Refresh the page and check Shared Files again.
- If it is still not there, reply on the note and let the lender know. The file may have been attached somewhere other than the order.
- If the lender confirms it is uploaded and you still cannot see it, contact support with the assignment number.
For everything else in Shared Files — including uploading your own work files for the lender — see Assignment Features.
