Updating Your Company, Appraiser and Payout Details After a Company Change
Updated
When your company changes its name, address, contact details, tax information or email domain, all of these updates are made in your Dwelling Blocks account by a user with an administrative role — only a company admin can make them. For security and privacy reasons, Dwelling Blocks Support can't make these changes on your behalf. Changes you make take effect immediately.
1. Update your company profile
- Log in to your Dwelling Blocks account.
- Go to Settings → Company, or open the company profile form directly at https://app.dwellingblocks.com/settings/company/profile
- Fill in the fields on the Details page:
- Name — your company name as it will appear to lenders.
- Description — a brief overview of your company, also visible to lenders. Optional.
- Phone and Email — the primary contact details lenders will use to reach you.
- Address — start typing your business address and select it from the suggestions. If your address does not appear, select Click here to enter address manually, then select Map to confirm the location.
- Select Save.
2. Update each appraiser's email address
If a user's email address needs to be updated, either an administrator or the user themselves can make the change. See Instructions for Changing Your Email Address (https://dwellingblocks.com/help/instructions-for-changing-your-email-address) for the steps.
3. Update your payout and tax information
Payments and 1099s are based on the details on your connected Stripe account, not on your company profile, so all of these updates have to be made directly in your Stripe account (https://dashboard.stripe.com/) — update the business name, address, bank details and tax information there to match your new company. If your business type or tax ID has changed, follow Updating Stripe for Accurate 1099 Forms (https://dwellingblocks.com/help/updating-stripe-for-accurate-1099-forms) so your EIN/TIN is used rather than an SSN.
If no one at your company still has access to the connected Stripe account, an administrator can disconnect it and connect a new one. See Connecting Your Bank Account To Get Paid (https://dwellingblocks.com/help/connecting-your-bank-account-to-get-paid) for the steps and for what happens to assignments and pending payouts while the account is disconnected.
If your company has no administrator
Because support can't make these changes for you, a company with no user in an administrative role has no way to edit its existing record. In that case, sign up again and start a new company, which ensures the company, appraiser and payout information is correct from the start.
If you're moving to a different company
If an appraiser is leaving to work under a different company rather than your company changing its own details, the existing profile can't be moved — it has history with the previous employer. Submit an access request, wait for the invite (usually up to 48 hours), and set up the new company and profile from there.
