Stripe Payout Setup Stuck on "Action Required
Updated
Payouts at Dwelling Blocks run through Stripe, so your payout status reflects what Stripe has verified about your account. "Action Required" means Stripe is still waiting on something - it does not mean your submission failed or that anything is wrong with your Dwelling Blocks account.
A connected bank account is only one part of setup - see Connecting Your Bank Account To Get Paid for that step. Stripe also needs to confirm who you are and what services you provide.
First, check what Stripe is asking for
Rather than repeating the form, log in to your Stripe account and look at the notice at the top of the dashboard. When Stripe is holding an account, it shows a warning or banner naming the item it still needs. That notice is the reliable answer for your account - the same "Action Required" status can come from different things.
One example: the business website
A business website is one item that can hold an account up. Stripe may restrict the account if:
- there is no website at all,
- the website is no longer active or won't load, or
- the information on it doesn't confirm what your appraisal company does.
If that is what your Stripe notice points to, you can use your public appraiser licence record on the Appraisal Subcommittee's site instead of a business website. It's public, so Stripe can always reach it to verify, and it carries your name.
- Go to https://asc.gov/ and look up your own appraiser record by name and licence number.
- Copy the URL of your individual appraiser page.
- Open your Stripe settings page and put that URL in as your website, replacing whatever is there now.
- Save, and let Stripe re-run its check.
If you also need to change your ownership structure or tax details in Stripe, that is a separate job - see Updating Stripe for Accurate 1099 Forms.
If there is no warning or banner with details
Give Stripe a little time to re-verify after any change you make. If the status stays on "Action Required" and there is no notice on your side explaining what is outstanding, contact Dwelling Blocks support with a screenshot of the status and of your Stripe dashboard, and we'll look into it with you.
Once you're verified
Assignments you complete while setup is pending are not lost - payment is released once the account is verified. From there the normal timing applies: Dwelling Blocks transfers your fee to Stripe when the assignment completes, and Stripe pays your bank about 2-3 business days later. See When and How You Get Paid for the full picture, and Payout History, Subscriptions and Charges for where past payouts are listed.
