What Your Bid Offer Status Means
Updated
After you respond to a bid invitation, its outcome shows up as a status on the Offer page. This page covers what each result means and what you can do next.
Rejected, but you didn't say no
If bidding closes early - another vendor in a stronger position accepted first - any of your invitations still open at that point are automatically marked Rejected. This is expected, not a mistake on your part: nothing on your account caused it, and the offer email itself lets you know upfront that an offer can close early for this reason.
It's most common on weekend and overnight orders, where the platform moves quickly once a vendor has been selected rather than waiting on every invited vendor to respond. If you're the top-ranked vendor for an offer, it won't close early - it waits for your response.
Open the Offer page's Activity History for the full picture: it'll show System User as who closed it, confirming it wasn't you.
Accepted a bid and haven't heard back yet?
That's normal too - bid selection is largely automatic, with the platform choosing based on ranking criteria the lender sets. The exception is conditional offers: if nobody accepted the assignment as posted and there are conditional bids to weigh against each other, a person reviews those to decide. If you accepted and haven't gotten a confirmation, it usually means one of:
- The assignment went to another vendor - often one closer to the property, or with a higher score.
- The order was cancelled before anyone was assigned.
- The lender closed bidding early.
Check the offer's bid history any time to see what became of a particular invitation.
If this is a one-off, that's normal. If it's a pattern - you're regularly bidding but rarely winning, or offers have gone quiet altogether - see Why Am I Not Receiving Assignments? for the fuller checklist (profile completeness, coverage area, capacity, and more).
Need to change a bid after submitting it?
Once an answer's been given, it's locked in on both sides - Dwelling Blocks and the lender both work from what you submitted, and neither can edit a response after the fact. Here's what to do instead:
- Offer still pending? Wait for bidding to close - a new bid or a withdrawal isn't possible mid-process.
- Already assigned, but you need something changed - accepted by mistake, or different terms needed? Add a note to the assignment and mark it Urgent - that puts your conditions directly in front of the lender. See Notes: Messaging the Lender About an Assignment.
