Opting In to Bid Offers
Updated
Some lenders place work by sending a request to every qualified vendor in an area at the same time, rather than offering it to one vendor after another. Those are bid requests, and you only see them if you have opted in.
For how a bid round itself works once you are in one, see Understanding How Bid Offers Work.
What opting in actually does
It is not an offer. Opting in makes you eligible to receive bid requests. Nothing is accepted on your behalf, and you still choose which requests to respond to.
Three things worth being clear about:
- More visibility. You see the available orders in your market, including ones that would previously have gone to someone else before reaching you.
- More control. You decide which of them fit your schedule and your expertise.
- No change to your standing. Your ranking stays exactly as it is. Your score still matters when a bid is awarded.
Bid requests only appear when a lender has actually turned the bid process on in your area, so opting in does not guarantee you will see any straight away.
How to opt in
- Open your profile details page.
- Find Allow Bid Offers on the Details card and click Update.
- Switch Allow Bid Offers on and save.
The setting reads "When enabled, you will receive new offers where a bid is required". You can switch it off again at any time the same way.
After you opt in
Bid requests arrive the same way other offers do, and appear in your offers list. Responding to one is covered in How to Submit an Offer with Conditions.
Nothing about your existing work changes. Assignments already in progress, your capacity, and your coverage areas all behave exactly as before.
